Sugarlicious Challenge

Sugar Dee gave us a double challenge this week: a sketch and a color challenge...Black, White and Purple! Ooooh...I am all over that one! I LOOOOVE purple. I pulled out one of my fav MSB images for the challenge "I Totally Support You" and colored her shirt up in Lovely Lilac. I used my Frills CB embossing border folders for the Lilac strips and added purple rhinestones in every other circle for a little bling, bling. I found the perfect sentiment in one of my AC Mini Marks books and VOILA! A Lovely Lilac card Tee Hee. Why don't you play along with the Sugars this week? One person will win 2 free MSB digis. Just link up your creation to the blog post on the MSB BLog. Don't forget to check out all the other Sugars creations as they're released today.

Digiments Release Preview

There's a wonderful new release available at Digiments on Saturday... it's choc-a-bloc full of fabulous inspirational quotes, everyday sentiments, kids quotes and more! Today I'm featuring the quote from a song that I've had running around in my head since MAY! HONESTLY! When Michelle released the "God is bigger than any problem I have" digiment, it made me think of this one, which is a song from VeggieTales. I've been singing it ever since LOL So I suggested to Michelle that she make a set of Digiments for kids based on Bible songs...and she did! So, in honour of the inspiration for this set, here is my Boogeyman card!

The cute little monsters are from PaperMakeup Stamps. I'm not sure who makes this Halloween dp...I just had one scrap of it that was perfect for this card. And I couldn't resist adding googley eyes to the monsters. I can't wait until I can give this to one of my daughters when they're scared of something. I can just see DD2 hanging it on the wall above her bed to remind her that everything will be ok. Please come back on Saturday for another fabulous sentiment from Digiments, and don't forget to check out all the sneak peeks from the DT.

Color Dare 25

I often hear people saying they need to make Sympathy cards...don't know what to do for them...need ideas for them. Well, the best advice I have is to get this set from Stampin Up: Close as a Memory. It makes wonderful Sympathy cards. This week's Color Dare was really hard for me again...it used Rich Regals colors! So, I pulled out a go-to set :) I colored directly on the rubber with Brocade Blue, Taken with Teal and Chocolate Chip...the only Kraft in my creation today is the mat :) But that counts!

Come play along...I can't wait to see what everyone else does with this color combo! No SU? No problem...just use what you have. Don't forget to link up to the Color Dare Blog so we can check out all the creations!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday

Last week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge was to "cut it out and pop it up"... since I was working on my Flourishes ATC swap, I decided to add some dimension to the daffodil by "paper toleing" it. It's so hard to see on the screen, but I cut out the bell & 2 petals and popped up that piece and then I popped up the two petals on top of that again...so the daffodil has 3 layers. In person it looks quite realistic I think. I am sooooooo very glad I finally got up the nerve to get this set...I was scared of trying to color it, but with watercolor paper it's so easy to color. This is most definitely my FAVOURITE Flourishes set so far. Now, I just need to figure out what to add to this little card...it needs something...but I can't quite put my finger on it. I'm thinking maybe the words daffodil across the top as a little border perhaps. Anyhow...I'll worry about that AFTER vacation :) NOW...back to the beach, TA!

Sugarlicious Challenge

This week's Modern Sugar Blvd. challenge was a toughie for me...Joni challenged us to use a tag on our cards...well, I'm not much for tags. I do use them for sentiments sometimes, but for some reason, Joni tells me I have to use one and I draw a blank! Anyhow, this is what I finally came up with...I like to just google quotes for the images I have sometimes, and this one from Burt Reynolds was just too funny. I think this will be an anniversary card for someone soon LOL Join me and the rest of the Sugars in this week's challenge. Don't forget to link your creation to the MSB Blog post for today so we can see all the creations in one place.

Last night I sat down to create two cards for the PMS Release Party Challenges for this month. Luckily for me, Christi (the stamp) had arrived on my doorstep and was just itching to see some ink. When I saw this stamp, I immediately knew I would create cards with the Rockabilly paper I'd been hoarding. The card above is for the sketch challenge, which was based on a super cute card by Lisabee.

This card is for the Case Katie challenge. We were to pick a card from Katie's (PMS Owner) SCS gallery or blog and CASE it using the SCS Featured Stamper rules: change two things. So if  you care to see, here is the card I cased. And above is the result. I changed the color scheme & the stamp...after all, Christi really needed more than one stamping spell :)

Ok...I'm going on auto-post for the next week as we're going on vacation and will NOT have any internet access (also no TV, no shopping, nothing to do except read & go to the beach across the street)...let's hope for better weather! Please do come back on Wednesday for my Color Dare card and on Thursday & Saturday for my Digiments release creations, and don't forget Sugarlicious Saturday challenges too :)
